What’s Old Is New… Again.

Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital has purchased as its new home a historic building constructed by James Irvine in 1911. A two-story craftsman, relocated to its current site in 1985 and part of the Irvine Historic District that was once a general store (and has been many things since). Dr. Mike Cao is a visionary who, like ADG, sees value in making the old new again, and this renovation speaks to his commitment.  As a team the guiding design principal was to integrate the past and present creating a state-of-the-art hospital with a modern vibe, while maintaining the character and integrity of the original building. With construction well underway, Smith and Severson Builders discovered the original delivery barn door as the original wood floors. Dr. Cao was instantly agreeable to finding a way to make these elements part of the new hospital.  IVVH’s approach to total pet wellness, a fear free environment and their compassionate care, combined with a healthy and comfortable work environment, speaks to us and our pets. Just like old dogs and new tricks, we think this will be something to bark about.
